Governor Sarah Palin’s “America By Heart” 16-City Book Tour Schedule

HarperCollins announced Wednesday that Governor Sarah Palin will be on the road from Nov. 23 to Dec. 3, with a break for Thanksgiving, to promote “American by Heart, Reflections on Family, Faith, and Flag.”
The tour begins at a Barnes & Noble in Phoenix, stops include Dillons Marketplace in Andover, Kan. Most notably, Des Moines and Spirit Lake, Iowa; a Sam’s Club in Little Rock, Ark.; and a Costco in Brentwood, Tenn. Palin will finish at a Books-A-Million in Columbia, S.C
The Governor strategically scheduled stops in Tulsa, Okla., on “Black Friday” the day after Thanksgiving and four stops during the biggest shopping weekend of the year.
The venues include the giant book chains — Borders, Barnes & Noble and Books-a-Million plus Walmart, Sam’s Club, Costco and Kroger.
In the fall of 2009, with the publication of her #1 national bestselling memoir, Sarah Palin had the privilege of meeting thousands of everyday Americans on her extraordinary 35-city book tour. Inspired by these encounters, her new book, America By Heart: Reflections on Family, Faith, and Flag, celebrates the enduring strengths and virtues that have made this country great.
Framed by her strong belief in the importance of family, faith, and patriotism, the book ranges widely over American history, culture, and current affairs, and reflects on the key values—both national and spiritual-that have been such a profound part of Governor Palin’s life and continue to inform her vision of America’s future. Written in her own refreshingly candid voice, America By Heart will include selections from classic and contemporary readings that have moved her-from the nation’s founding documents to great speeches, sermons, letters, literature and poetry, biography, and even some of her favorite songs and movies. Here, too, are portraits of some of the extraordinary men and women she admires and who embody her deep love of country, her strong rootedness in faith, and her profound love and appreciation of family. She will also draw from personal experience to amplify these timely (and timeless) themes—themes that are sure to inspire her numerous fans and readers all across the country.

(Video) Newt on ABC’s GMA: Governor Sarah Palin & Germany Right, Bernanke Fundamentally Wrong

They could soon be political opponents if Newt Gingrich and Sarah Palin decide to make a run for the Oval Office– but today the former speaker of the House agreed with Palin’s criticism of Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke.
“I would say that Bernanke is fundamentally wrong. That is he running – he is fundamentally misreading the economy. This economy lacks confidence in the government, it doesn’t lack cash,” Gingrich told me.
Yesterday Palin called on Bernanke to “cease and desist” with his plan to buy $600 billion worth of bonds and cited a warning from the German minister of finance, according to the National Review.
Gingrich said it is “interesting” that Palin and Germany are on the same side – but added America  should take a look at what the country accomplished.

Sarah Palin Op-Ed: Midterms Lessons Learned & The Way Forward (2012 Strategy)

Now that the dust has settled on the 2010 midterm elections, it’s slowly becoming clear just how monumental the results really are. We saw an extreme left-wing agenda suffer a crushing defeat. At the ballot box, voters took Obamacare and the stimulus and wrapped them right around the necks of those same House members and senators who had arrogantly dismissed the concerns voiced in countless town halls and Tea Party rallies up and down the country. Voters sent commonsense conservatives a clear mandate to hold the line against the Obama agenda. […]
The first lesson is simple: Set the narrative. This year it wasn’t too difficult to tell the story of the election: It was about stopping an out-of-control Congress and an out-of-touch White House. In races across the country, Republican candidates ran on the message that the Left was bankrupting America with budget-busting spending bills that mortgage our children’s future, burden the private sector with uncertainty, and cripple our much-needed job growth. […]
In the next two years, if all we end up doing is adopting some tax hikes here, some Obama-agenda compromises there, and a thousand little measures that do nothing to get us out of the economic mess we’re in, the same voters that put the GOP in office will vote them out in the next election. If that happens, the story of 2012 may well be that of the GOP going the way of the Whigs. No, the American people are expecting us to be bold and big in our economic reform to allow the private sector to create jobs and soar! […]
In the coming weeks there will also be a debate about the viability of particular candidates. Anyone with the courage to throw his or her hat in the ring and stand up and be counted always has my respect. Some of them were stronger candidates than others, but they all had the courage to be “in the arena.” The second lesson of this election is one a number of the candidates had to learn to their cost: Fight back the lies immediately and consistently. Some candidates assumed that, once they received their party’s nomination, the conservative message would automatically carry the day. Unfortunately, political contests aren’t always about truth and justice. Powerful vested interests will combine to keep bad candidates in place and good candidates out of office. Once they let themselves be defined as “unfit” (decorated war hero Joe Miller) or “heartless” (pro-life, international women’s rights champion Carly Fiorina), good candidates often find it virtually impossible to get their message across. The moral of their stories: You must be prepared to fight for your right to be heard.
Another important lesson is that we will need the mother of all GOTV efforts if we wish to win in 2012. Sending donations isn’t enough when push comes to shove. Millions of boots on the ground are needed, and voter-fraud prevention must be addressed before election eve.
The last, and possibly most important, lesson is that a winning conservative message must always be carefully crafted. If candidates are going to talk boldly on the campaign trail about entitlement reform and reducing the size of government, they must be prepared to word it in such a way as to minimize the inevitable fear-mongering accusations of “extremism.” We are quickly approaching a fiscal turning point where these crucial reform discussions will be mandatory. We need to speak about them in a way that the public will embrace. During his first run for the presidency in 1976, Ronald Reagan found out that election campaigns aren’t necessarily the best settings for quasi-academic discussions about issues like Social Security reform. So for his next campaign, he resolved to build his platform out of tried and tested policies like tax cuts. Successful candidates in the next election cycle will have to test and develop similar policy platforms that address the crucial issues of entitlement reform and shrinking government in a way that the voters will find pragmatic and even attractive....

(Video) Governor Palin’s Statement On The Engagement Of Bristol & Levi

Bristol at 19 is now a young adult. As parents, we obviously want what is best for our children, but Bristol is ultimately in charge of determining what is best for her and her beautiful son. Bristol believes in redemption and forgiveness to a degree most of us struggle to put in practice in our daily lives.
We pray that, as a couple, Bristol and Levi’s relationship matures into one that will allow Tripp to grow up graced with two loving parents in his life.

Sarah Palin To Rahm Emanuel: You're Fired! Poor Poor Little Rahm Emanuel To Leave In 6 Months

Rahm Emanuel just can't take it anymore.
That's what ‘Washington insiders' are telling the London Telegraph, which reports that the WH chief of staff is tired of sparring with both Republicans  and fellow Democrates and will quit in the next six to eight months.
"I would bet he will go after the midterms," The Telegraph quotes a 'leading Democratic' source as saying.
"Nobody thinks it's working but they can't get rid of him - that would look awful. He needs the right sort of job to go but the consensus is he'll go." […]
This year he battled Republicans on health care reform, watched the President's approval ratings plunge, and found himself embroiled in controversy when the Wall Street Journal reported that he had called a liberal group 'retarded' in a closed-door meeting, prompting Sarah Palin and other conservatives to call for his resignation. […]
The father of three also told 60 Minutes that the job is "a tremendous amount of pressure. And it's a tremendous amount to ask of your family."
According to the Telegraph's sources, Emanuel has told friends he is "very sensitive to the idea that he is not a good father for having done this," and that privately he has expressed a desire to run for Mayor of Chicago, his home town.

Sarah Palin Responds To Reports On UK / Margaret Thatcher Trip

Following an article in a British publication on Sunday, I’ve received questions about a possible trip to the United Kingdom. I have received an invitation for a visit to London, and part of that invitation included the offer of arranging a meeting between myself and one of my political heroines, the “Iron Lady,” Margaret Thatcher. I would love to meet her and hope I’ll be able to arrange the trip in the future.
As I wrote last year when I offered her birthday wishes, Baroness Thatcher’s life and career serve as a blueprint for overcoming the odds and challenging the “status quo.” She started life as a grocer’s daughter from Grantham and rose to become Prime Minister – all by her own merit and hard work. I cherish her example and will always count her as one of my role models. Her friendship with my other political hero, Ronald Reagan, exemplified the Special Relationship between the United States and the United Kingdom.
