SPRINCETON, NJ -- Republican college degree holders are more likely than those without a degree to support Mitt Romney for the Republican presidential nomination in 2012, 21% vs. 13%. Similarly, Romney's support climbs from 9% of Republicans earning less than $24,000 annually to 21% of those earning $90,000 or more. The reverse is true for Sarah PALIN, who is favored by nearly twice as many Republicans without a college degree as those with one, 16% vs. 9%, and her support decreases by income from 22% among the lowest income group to 7% among the highest. Despite her strong Tea Party connections, PALIN receives as much support from liberal/moderate Republicans as she does from conservative Republicans, 15% vs. 13%. Also, there is little differentiation in preferences for her by region, ranging from 12% in the West and Midwest to 14% in the South and 16% in the East. […]

None of the leading candidates at this stage is without some limitation in terms of earning widespread support. While Huckabee's support crosses socioeconomic lines, it is heavily concentrated among conservatives and in the South and Midwest. Romney, while competitive among the ideological groups, does not thus far enjoy strong support among working-class Republicans; rather, he appeals particularly to upscale Republicans. PALIN has the opposite pattern, appealing to middle to lower socioeconomic households far more than upper-income and more educated households. At the same time, her appeal is fairly uniform across regions and by ideology.

Sarah Palin: Millions Of Viewers Added To O’Reilly & Beck (Hannity Tonight)

Roger Ailes and Fox News are laughing all the way to the bank by signing Sarah Palin as a paid analyst. Sarah’s 1st first appearance on Fox News pushed Bill O’Reilly’s ratings by 22%.  

Monday, 4,870,000 viewers (combining times). Tuesday, 5,940,000. So he was up 450,000 in the first hour but up 1,070,000 altogether — a 22% gain. 

TV-by-the-Numbers.com reported:

Though a little scandal might alienate advertisers, it’s pure ratings gold. Last night Glenn Beck had over 3 million viewers at 5pm, second only to O’Reilly for the night.  But, Beck had more 25-54 viewers than O’Reilly (888K to 876K).  I don’t watch or really even care about the cable news wars, but still…wow. Even though Beck airs before primetime,  when there are fewer people watching TV, he had the most 25-54 viewers in the cable news world for the night. Amazing.

Tonight, Jan 14th 2010, Sarah Palin will be on Hannity and naturally the rating will be through the roof.  It is obviously a smart move by Roger Ailes at Fox News and we will continue to see Fox News grow  and expand.  I am hoping News Corps next acquisition is going to be the once great and profitable New York Times.  We will also see CNN, NBC, LA Times and others continue to consolidate (no more Headline, CNBC etc…) or eliminate services.

So, what does this do to the hope that Sarah Palin will spearhead a political renaissance in America (The Palin Palimpsest) and take up residence in the White House in 2012? 

Well, it's a quandary for sure. But, then, a few stray ideas might just make strange bedfellows:

• Many are saying that Sarah needs to spiff up her repartee a bit and become more adept at the tit-for-tat interaction of professional reportage, and Fox News might just be a good place to do that;

• The lame stream media lambast Sarah for an alleged deficit in detailed national and international knowledge, and there's no better place to get a head full of that kind of miscellany than television news;

• If Ronald Reagan's television and radio career helped him package the charisma that landed him in the White House, Fox News might just do the same for Sarah.

For all those who hope to see Sarah lead a "new-made" Republican Party in taking back this country from crypto-Marxists, it is time to say a prayer that Sarah's exposure to the realities of professional news casting doesn't result in political overexposure.
