Sarah Palin: Effective Rule of Law Vs Obama’s Ineffective Thugocracy

The Obama administration is an out-of-control, ineffective thugocracy, according to Michael Barone, political analyst for the Washington Examiner. Thomas Sowell, whose book, Conflict of Visions, Gov. Palin referenced in Going Rogue described how the United States is slipping into tyranny.
Obama's Leadership Philosophy: Ineffective Thuggery
In "Obama's thuggery is useless in fighting spill," Barone cited Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar's infamous "boot on the neck" quote and Obama's "so I know whose a-- to kick," as two examples of ineffective thuggery, while BP's gusher gushes unabated 65 days later and state and local governments do the heavy lifting to keep their beaches safe.
The now-reversed moratorium on off-shore drilling is an example of ineffective thuggery at work, for as Barone wrote, "[this] penalizes companies with better safety records than BP's and will result in many advanced drilling rigs being sent to offshore oil fields abroad."

Judge Feldman, who wrote the ruling reversing the moratorium was even harsher. "An invalid agency decision to suspend drilling of wells in depths of over 500 feet simply cannot justify the immeasurable effect on the plaintiffs, the local economy, the Gulf region, and the critical present-day aspect of the availability of domestic energy in this country," as quoted by an Associated Press report.

Gutting the Constitution and the Road to Tyranny
Sowell, of Investor's Business Daily wrote about an even more insidious form of thuggery, that went virtually unnoticed.
  • Just where in the Constitution of the United States does it say that a president has the authority to extract vast sums of money from a private enterprise and distribute it as he sees fit to whomever he deems worthy of compensation? Nowhere.
  • And yet that is precisely what is happening with a $20 billion fund to be provided by BP to compensate people harmed by their oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.
The $20 billion fund was arrived at absent due process of the law, Sowell argues, which is a dangerous precedent that will lead to the imposition of tyranny ostensibly "for the good of the people." In his article, Sowell describes how arbitrary power grabs and over-stepping constitutional bounds was the underpinning of the Nazi regime.
    A Conflict of Visions
On Page 385 of Going Rogue, Gov. Palin provided a cogent synopsis of Sowell's Conflict of Visions:
    • People who adhere to the unconstrained vision (the label applied to them is "liberal" or "left-wing") believe that human nature is changeable (therefore perfectible) and that society's problems can all be solved if only the poor, ignorant, disorganized public is told what to do and rational plans are enacted. And who better to make those plans than an elite bureaucracy pulling the strings and organizing society according to their master blueprint?
    Gov Palin continued,
    • Conservatives believe in the "constrained" political vision because we know that human nature is flawed and that there are limitations to what can be done in Washington to "fix" society's problems....we do not ignore history's lessons and waste time chasing utopian pipe dreams.
    Conclusion
Gov. Palin wrote on p. 386 of Going Rogue,
    • We don't trust utopian promises from politicians. The role of government is not to perfect us but to protect us -- to protect our inalienable rights. The role of government in a civil society is to protect the individual and to establish a social contract so that we can live together in peace.
The foregoing clearly indicates a stark difference in visions between Gov. Palin and the entire Obama administration. Gov. Palin clearly supports limited federal government, and adherence to the Constitution, in this case the Tenth Amendment - enumerated powers. She subscribes to the constrained vision.
Obama clearly subscribes to the un-constrained vision with its concomitant centralized state planning bureaus, czars and commissars. As pointed out both by Gov. Palin and Obama his own words, he wants to "fundamentally transform" these United States. The past 65 days give a good glimpse as to where this transformation will lead. Obama wants us to be not a Shining City on a Hill, but a bankrupt, third rate, third world, ineffective thugocracy.
Regardless of his political leanings, Obama is absolutely unfit to serve. He is not a leader, not a commander-in-chief and not conducting himself as a President. He is not the best man for the job. None of the men who are presumed to be running for 2012 against him are the best men for job either.
The best man for the job is a woman!

2012 Draft Sarah Committee June 2010 Newsletter

    2012 Draft Sarah Committee
    Newsletter                                         Vol 2 Issue 2
    Chairman's Corner - Randy Highsmith
There are many so called "experts" out there who have already decided Governor Palin is not going to run for President in 2012.  I think they have forgotten that she is not a typical politician; she does things her way and in her own timing.  Just because she has not done some of the "normal" groundwork for a run does not mean she has ruled it out.  In fact, I have seen and read on several occasions where she has said she would consider a run if it was right for her family and right for the nation.  So don't let those voicing such opinions discourage you, keep pressing forward until our goal of having Governor Palin as our nominee comes to fruition.
Be sure to visit http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/sarahpalinsalaska/ and sign the petition showing your support of Governor Palin's upcoming Discovery Channel Documentary on Alaska.  The Left is trying to pressure Discovery Communicationsinto not airing the program.  Let David Saslav of Discovery Communications know you support their decision to run the documentary.
Our committee has elected two new members to the Board of Directors as a result of two resignations.  Board MemberDavid Kelly, co-founder and Treasurer of the 2012 Draft Sarah Committee, is stepping down at the end of the month to concentrate on issues and campaigns in Colorado.  He will remain our Colorado Organizer.  Also, due to her hectic schedule, Board Member April Moore has stepped down from the Board.  She will remain our Alaska Organizer.  We elected Rachelle Friberg, our San Diego, CA Organizer and Martha Cano, our Corpus Christi, TX Organizer to fill those vacancies.  Martha was appointed as our new Treasurer and will take over those duties July 1st.  In this issue we are spotlighting Rachelle and will spotlight Martha in next issue.  Welcome aboard, Rachelle and Martha.
We have released three promotional videos "summoning" Governor Palin to run in 2012.  Below you will find the long version.  We have 30 and 60 second versions as well, and those can be viewed at our YouTube page,http://www.youtube.com/2012DRAFTSARAH.  Be sure to share these videos on Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, and your blogs.

       Organizer Spotlight - Rachelle Friberg
Rachelle Friberg is a San Diego girl and a patriotic American at heart!  She graduated from San Diego State University in 2005 where she studied English and Journalism. She also has a Master’s Degree in English. Prior to the 2008 Presidential Election, she was never really into politics. Rachelle voted, but that was about it. The election of 2008 changed everything for her. When Senator John McCainselected Governor Sarah Palin, she immediately viewed her as a role model, a true modern-day feminist. Governor Palin is the epitome of this female: strong, sincere, classy, intelligent and graceful. Rachelle says, "I have heard individuals describe her as a modern-dayMargaret Thatcher or Ronald Reagan."  She has inspired Rachelle to get involved politically.
Rachelle began to look at politics with a fresh perspective, and she found that she could not get enough of it. Soon after the election, she created her blog, Conservative Girl with a Voice:http://www.conservativegirlwithavoice.com/.  She became involved with the 2012 Draft Sarah Committee as the San Diego Organizer.   She put her background in journalism to work by becoming a political correspondent for a variety of radio shows around the U.S. Furthermore, Rachelle is also co-host of The People's Post Livehttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/thepeoplespost-live, a political radio show that helps to promote Governor Palin and spread the conservative message, and she writes for the Palin Twibe and the Sarah Palin Internet Coalition. Recently, she was asked to begin writing for Smart Girl Politics and Smart Girl Nation.  Radio Talk Show Host and Palin Supporter Tammy Bruce has featured her blog on her site.  Rachelle is also helping her good friend, former Conservative talk radio host and great friend of the Palin family,Eddie Burke, with the press aspect for his campaign for Alaska's lieutenant governor.
In her spare time—when not working at La Jolla High School with her dad, a teacher, and immersed in all things politics—she loves to spend time with her family, friends, and her Malitichon, Beau.  Rachelle also loves spending time in the outdoors at her family's cabin in the Sierra Nevadas hiking, swimming, sailing, fishing, and kayaking. She is an outdoors girl and a sports lover.  You may contact Rachelle at CA-SDG@2012DraftSarahCommittee.com.

Sarah Palin: On 66th Anniversary Of D-Day Remember Courage & Sacrifice Of Our Greatest Generation

Today, on the 66th Anniversary of D-Day, let’s remember the courage and sacrifice of our Greatest Generation whose actions helped liberate a continent. I’d like to share with you excerpts from President Reagan’s beautiful speech on the 40th Anniversary of D-Day honoring the Rangers who took the cliffs at Pointe du Hoc:
“Behind me is a memorial that symbolizes the Ranger daggers that were thrust into the top of these cliffs. And before me are the men who put them here. These are the boys of Pointe du Hoc. These are the men who took the cliffs. These are the champions who helped free a continent. These are the heroes who helped end a war. Gentlemen, I look at you and I think of the words of Stephen Spender’s poem. You are men who in your “lives fought for life and left the vivid air singed with your honor.”....
Forty summers have passed since the battle that you fought here. You were young the day you took these cliffs; some of you were hardly more than boys, with the deepest joys of life before you. Yet, you risked everything here. Why? Why did you do it? What impelled you to put aside the instinct for self-preservation and risk your lives to take these cliffs? What inspired all the men of the armies that met here? We look at you, and somehow we know the answer. It was faith and belief. It was loyalty and love.
The men of Normandy had faith that what they were doing was right, faith that they fought for all humanity, faith that a just God would grant them mercy on this beachhead, or on the next. It was the deep knowledge -- and pray God we have not lost it -- that there is a profound moral difference between the use of force for liberation and the use of force for conquest. You were here to liberate, not to conquer, and so you and those others did not doubt your cause. And you were right not to doubt.
You all knew that some things are worth dying for. One’s country is worth dying for, and democracy is worth dying for, because it’s the most deeply honorable form of government ever devised by man. All of you loved liberty. All of you were willing to fight tyranny, and you knew the people of your countries were behind you.” - Ronald Reagan
May we never forget the sacrifices made for liberty.

(Video) Sarah Palin Endorsement: Cecile Bledsoe for Arkansas On the List of “Mama Grizzlies”

Just had a great talk with Cecile Bledsoe (and talk about “boots on the ground” in her grassroots campaign, she answered her own campaign phone when I called). She’s an inspiring individual whom I’m happy to support.
Cecile is another Commonsense Conservative “mama grizzly” running for Congress this year. Her mission to protect our great country’s freedom is so commendable. Cecile is a pro-family, pro-2nd Amendment, fiscal conservative who will work hard for the people in Arkansas’ 3rd Congressional District.
Please join me in supporting another member of the “pink elephant stampede” of Commonsense Constitutional Conservative women who will take this country back to our roots of limited government and fiscal responsibility. Please vote for Cecile on Tuesday, June 8th.
You can visit Cecile’s website here, and follow her on Facebook and Twitter.

"Palin-Heads" Could Fuel Sarah Palin Presidential Run

If you close your eyes and think, "Diehard Sarah Palin supporter," an image of Kevin DuJan is unlikely to come to mind.
A 33-year-old gay man who works as a development consultant and freelance writer, DuJan has long considered himself a Clinton Democrat. During the 2008 primaries, he spent his weekdays running phone banks for Hillary Clinton out of his home in the Boystown neighborhood of Chicago and traveled to 26 states and Puerto Rico on behalf of the candidate.
But after Clinton suspended her campaign, DuJan made a dramatic about face and spent the general election volunteering for the Republican ticket.
When John McCain named Sarah Palin his vice presidential nominee, DuJan was overjoyed, and Palin quickly became his new political heroine.  [...]
If Palin embarks on a presidential run next year, all signs indicate that it would be the fiercely loyal, yet decidedly nontraditional operatives like DuJan who would form the backbone of her campaign. Other Republican candidates will benefit from having more seasoned organizations, but none will surpass the fervor and energy that these "Palin-heads" are already providing on behalf of their political heroine. [...]
"We would literally walk across hot broken glass for this woman," says Nicole Coulter (at left), a frequent contributor to the most prominent pro-Palin web site, Conservatives4Palin.com, which serves as an up-to-the-second source of news and analysis of all things Palin. "She represents something very powerful. It's deeper than politics. It's much, much deeper than politics. It's cultural. It's just this zeitgeist of raw emotion, kind of what our country is all about."
Of course, there are other national politicians attract passionate support, but with Palin's biggest fans, the devotion to the former Alaska governor resides on a deeply personal level that seems unique in American life.  [...]
Her speaking patterns and personal background notwithstanding, Coulter is in some ways as unlikely a Palin devotee as DuJan is. As a young woman, she was a died-in-the-wool liberal who protested the first Gulf War and cast her first vote in a presidential election for Jessie Jackson in the 1988 Utah Democratic primary.
Now Coulter devotes at least an hour or two each day to Palin-related research and writing.  [...]
Thirty-nine-year-old seventh grade English teacher Adrienne Ross (at left) started her pro-Palin web site, MotivationTruth, soon after Election Day in 2008. In July of 2009, Ross left her home in Hudson, New York, for a month-long trip to Alaska. It was a Palin pilgrimage of sorts that doubled as a sightseeing trip.[...]

Ross and other prominent members of what might best be described as the "Sarah Palin community" reject the notion that they are blind followers in a political cult of personality. They are clearly sensitive to being painted with a label that they instead attribute to President Obama's biggest fans.
"I'm sure she's had some impact on it, but I wouldn't go as far to say she's changed my life, and I'm suddenly hearing music and the light from above is shining on me," says Josh Painter, who manages a Palin blog roll and edits Texas4Palin from his hometown of Bryan, Texas. "That's Barack Obama territory-he's 'The One.' Sarah Palin is just a woman we relate to."  [...]
Of all the pro-Palin blogs, Conservatives4Palin consistently has the biggest impact and reach. Its influence is evident in that it is the only online destination specifically devoted to supporting a potential 2012 candidate to make a recent list of the 100 most popular conservative web sites.
Most of Conservatives4Palin's contributors are not shy about their desire to see Palin run for president in 2012. Palin herself long ago took notice of the site, giving it one of her patented shout-outs in her best selling book. She even scooped up two of its founding contributors last year and hired them to paid positions on her political staff.
"She's always said the best ideas don't come out of Washington, DC, and so there's no reason why she wouldn't follow that belief in choosing her staff," says Rebecca Mansour, one of the former Conservatives4Palin bloggers turned current Palin staffer.  [...]
Like Adrienne Ross, 72-year-old retired Air Force Colonel O.P. Ditch started his web site, Vets4Sarah, shortly after the 2008 campaign and has seen Palin speak six times. When he and his wife attended a book signing event in Roanoke, Virginia, last November, Palin's staff made sure that they were the first to greet the governor when she entered the bookstore.
When Kevin DuJan and one of the other Hillbuzz contributors ventured to Washington, Illinois, to hear Palin speak last April, two members of Palin's staff made sure that they would have personal access to Palin.
For DuJan, it was the third chance he had gotten to meet her face to face, and this time, he wasn't going to let the opportunity go without imparting some political advice.  "I said, 'Don't let the RNC, don't let Michael Steele, and the media talk you out of it. Run. We think this is your calling,'" DuJan recalls.  He was particularly heartened by Palin's response. "She just looked at me, and just like she does with a wink in her eye, and said , 'Don't you worry. I got their number.'"

Sarah Palin On Israeli Flotilla: Don't Take Mainstream Media Coverage at Face Value

The media, as usual, seems to be reporting only one side of the Israeli Flotilla incident. Don't trust the mainstream media to give you both sides of a story fairly... you must seek out fair reporting to ensure you have all the information.
As far too many in the media, and in various governments, rush to condemn Israel, we must put the recent events off Israel’s coast into the right perspective.  This “relief” convoy was not about humanitarian aid, as the liberal mainstream media keeps reporting.  The whole operation was designed to provoke Israel, not to provide supplies to Palestinians held hostage by Hamas terrorists in Gaza.  Anyone who sees the video of Israeli commandos being attacked as they land on that ship knows the people aboard were vicious thugs, not “peace activists.” The media insults our intelligence with their outright mischaracterization of who these enemies are.
Israel delivers thousands of tons of humanitarian supplies every week to Gaza.  These ships could have offloaded their cargoes at a nearby Israeli port if they really wanted to help the people of Gaza.  Instead, they chose to incite confrontation and violence.  Israel has a right to prevent arms shipments to Gaza that will be used to target innocent Israelis, so they were legitimately checking the cargo on the flotilla.  Turkey has chosen to condemn Israel but we should be asking some serious questions about Turkey’s role in this whole affair.  Why is a fellow member of NATO sponsoring such a dangerous publicity stunt?  As one expert points out: “Three ships of that six-ship pro-terror convoy flew Turkish flags and were crowded with Turkish citizens. The Ankara government -- led by Islamists these days -- sponsored the "aid" operation in a move to position itself as the new champion of the Palestinians. And Turkish decision-makers knew Israel would have to react -- and were waiting to exploit the inevitable clash. The provocation was as cynical as it was carefully orchestrated.
We can only hope the Obama Administration does not join the anti-Israel chorus in the aftermath of this staged confrontation.  Please, Mr. President, we need to let Israelis know we stand with them in their fight against terrorists and those who arm and support them. America and her ally, Israel, stand by waiting for your response.
